I forgive her for what she did, but I do have grounds to be angry. She denied me my right of choice.

I understand why she did it, so I will eventually stop being angry at her. But not today.

Can I ask. Why you would rather die.

Before I answer that, I would like to know what Ren has told you about our people.

She said you wanted to die in the tradition of your folk.

I do not know anything else from her.

One of our laws is Do Not Suffer Thy People to Tend Thy Sickness. This law is for when we are on the brink of becoming dangerous or too far gone to recover. So that we can die with honor instead of disgrace, in a final service to Gaia.

I had reached that point while sick. I didn't want to die, Noth, but I didn't want to hurt anyone. I would have rather died than turn into a corrupt monster that preyed upon innocent people.

And when the choice is one or the other, I choose the one that aligns closest to my principles.

Ren minimized the harm I caused while transformed. That is why I will eventually stop being angry.
